Aula Informatica di Zoologia, Dipartimento di Biologia Evoluzionistica Sperimentale,
University of Bologna, Via Selmi 3, 40126 Bologna, Italy
Lecturers:
Prof. Lisandro Benedetti-Cecchi (Department of Biology, University of Pisa) http://www.discat.unipi.it/BiolMar/people/LBC/LBC.htm

The course covers the fundamentals in the design and analysis of experiments. The course is potentially directed to researchers from any field of work, with emphasis on studies in biology, ecology, and environmental sciences. The participants will be instructed on how to decide what kind of analysis is most appropriate given the hypothesis of interest and how to interpret their results. The course will consist of lectures and practical PC exercises, for a total of 8 credit points.
The course will be limited to a maximum of 30 students and will target post-graduates, PhD students, post-docs and researchers interested in developing skills in the design and analysis of data from monitoring and experiments. No explicit pre-requisites are needed, but a general familiarity with univariate statistics is expected and a good knowledge of the English language.
The course fee will include PRIMER v6 and a separate Windows version of PERMANOVA accessed as an add-in to PRIMER.
Costs: 1650 for students and 1950 for post-docs including PRIMER software, accommodation (in double or triple flats at the Residenza Studi Superiori), and coffee breaks
